[:en]This place is great- clean, bright and airy and about 100 yards from the ocean. There's also a cool surf shack restaurant/bar right around the corner that has good drinks and live music. The only thing I would note is that it's a windier and more wild area of the island... The exact area of the house is more suited for Kite/wind surf, but just down the way you'll find South Point and Freights, which are great little surf waves. Stefano was a great host. He lent us extra snorkel gear for free and was totally helpful in terms of getting us oriented... Extremely friendly human. This was a great jump off point for our trip, and I'd recommend.[:]

Having said that the area is beautiful and Stefano and Elisabetta are constantly attending to the grounds and property, keeping everything clean and tidy. They are lovely, friendly hosts who helped us with local information and in hiring a car. The bed linens are beautiful and we appreciated the local information booklet In the room.. There is a great beach bar nearby, (only open in the evenings when we were there), and the bigger supermarkets and best beaches are a drive away. Our favourite beach was Miami Beach, and Oistins is just down the road, on the no 11 bus! The sea was very rough on this part of the coast during our stay but there are lovely walks to 2 nearby beaches, and we saw lots of turtles just off the rocks, monkeys in the trees and mongoose near by. Be prepared for extra charges to use the washing machine or to have air conditioning.....but this is listed in their details. All in all, a lovely place to stay.[:]

[:en]This was our first time to Barbados and we could not be more pleased. Upon arriving at the airport there was transportation waiting to take us to the apartment, then the rental car we wanted was delivered right to us. That alone made the transition to a new country so much easier and enjoyable. The apartment was everything that Stefano and Elizabetta had said. It was spacious and clean. We had a 10 day stay and our linens were changed every 5 days and our towels were changed ever three days. The apartment was on the top floor and our view from the deck was gorgeous, could see and hear the ocean. There is a very nice almost private beach within a 3 minute walk. There is also a great open air bar called Surfers Bay which is also a 3 minute walk. Great way to end the day after being at the beach. The island itself is very easy to get around (once you can navigate the streets) and the people are very friendly and the food is out of this world. The fish market on Friday is a very happening place to be! I would recommend this place to whomever, our next visit to Barbados we will be staying there again. [:en]Our holiday to Barbados was a very special treat also to celebrate my 50th birthday. We were greeted by the lovely Stephano and his wife Isabella on out arrived. Our taxi had also been organised for us which included a guided tour round the supermarket to get everything we might need. The gardens were blooming with stunning flowers and was all very well kept. There were wooden stairs leading up to the apartment where it sat with its own balcony and table so we could sit outside and listen to the sea as it was also right on our doorstep. The area was very quite, not touristy, maybe slightly remote for some but nowhere is far and we much preferred it that way. If you didn’t want to walk to the closet town you could get a bus or a taxi as they were abundant. The apartment was light and airy with ceiling fans in both rooms. Air conditioning was available. It was nicely decorated and very colourful and had just about everything you needed. The floors were tiled and the windows all had net screens. There was plenty of room with a sofa bed in the kitchen dining are and a huge double bedroom which was very comfy with lovely crisp cotton linen which was changed regularly for us along with the towels. For us it was perfect, the beaches were just a stones throw away and very quiet in hurricane season. We stayed for three weeks and did not want to leave. It was perfect. I would very much love to go back and hope that one day we may be able to return.[:]

[:en]The stars must've aligned and landed me in the most suitable location not only for great sea views, water sports, and local attractions, but most importantly a safe and comfortable area where I was able to walk about freely, go in and out of town, enjoy the beach, and meet great Bajan locals and also travelers from all over the world with ease. Eli, and Stefano were gracious hosts, who made sure their guests were comfortable and taken well care of. The yellow bird apartment easily became my home away from home, and was clean and equipt with everything that I needed as a woman traveling alone. I especially enjoyed speaking with Eli about native Italian cuisine, and life in general. All in all the location of Blue Ocean Cottages was entirely ideal, offering beautiful landscape, easy access to local bar Surfers Bay, and into Oistins where marketing and calm turquoise beaches are within simple reach. [:en]A quiet and beautiful place almost on the beach. Apartments are very snug, clean and spacious. There is everything for comfortable life: furniture, household appliances, dishes, bathroom, hot water, audio system, wi-fi. Bedclothes and towels were regular changed (every 2-3 days). The owners (Stefano and Elizabetta) are the sweetest people, they did everything for making vacation comfortable and interesting, gave some good advices about excursions and recommended a good instructor of kite surfing. There are some beaches near the apartments. Almost all of them are suitable for windsurfing and kite surfing. The most famous kite surfing spot (Silver rock) is about 10 min on foot. If you don’t want to cook by yourself, there is a surfer’s bay café near the apartments, where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you want to visit other cafés, restaurants (that is strongly recommended) or night clubs you need to go 5-15 min by car or by bus. The bus stop is about 7-10 min from the apartments.[:]

[:en]The place is line home, but in a beautiful county with lovely people. Stefano & Elizabeth, the owners, made us feel like family. They arranged transportation and gave us tips on where to go. The room we stayed in was a cute apartment (the yellow flower room, I think) was perfect for us and just as it was described. It was clean and everything was supplied. The view of the water from the room was just spectacular. There is a small bar within walking distance that was convenient. The propert was close to public transportation and a convenient store. The apartment is nice and tidy even if it's more simple than we are normally looking for. However the apartment works perfectly well. Our first impression was that we were very much out on the countryside but looking for relaxation and a good surf, it is actually the best part of the island,, but you need a car to get around. You can see that he loves Barbados and wan'ts to share his enthusiasm with his guests. The location is excellent, it's easy to get to some very nice beaches, Bridgetown, shops and tourist attractions. If you are into water sports it's all very close. (English) Four weeks of total relaxation

[:en]As we (me and my partner) were planning to stay four weeks in Barbados the hotel accommodation was not an option for us. We were looking for a house or apartment as near the sea as possible. And we found it: Blue Ocean Cottage! As we were only two we chose Yellow Bird Apt which was perfect for us. Rooms were spacious, kitchen well equipped, small but functional bathroom and all clean. From the terrace you have a sea view with nice sea breeze. Everything was as described. The owner, Stefano, was always just a phone-call away. Anyhow, we did not need any help from him as everything was in perfect order during our stay. Cottage is located 30 min walk away from Oistins. We did not rent a car as there was also the bus stop in the walking distance. Those minibuses operated in a few minute's interval until midnight. Surfer's paradise Silver Sands was just nearby. Even we did not surf ourselves it was nice to watch it from the sandy beach. Daytime there was NO RAIN; few showers during the nights. Location of the Blue Ocean Cottage is very peaceful and also the guests were thoughtful and did not cause any noises. WE SLEPT 10 HOURS EVERY NIGHT! We both love to swim in the sea and the beaches are just stunning in Barbados. It was a holiday in PARADISE.[:]

[:en]I am certainly glad I made the decision to stay in the area of Silver Sands with my girlfriend. Blue Ocean villa has the perfect location to make short trips between the rugged south/east coast and the famous azure waters and golden sands of the west coast - unfortunately in areas densely populated by beachfront hotels and touristy restaurants. It also located within close proximity to the airport and Oistins, which is a small town with a big supermarket and the famous Friday Fish Fry. Before our stay I was in email contact with Stefano who owns these apartments, he was extremely helpful and informative, even booking our jeep for the 10 days - MAH rent a car (at a much cheaper price then I was quoted elsewhere). On arrival we were greeted by Stefano and his Partner and shown to our apartment (yellow bird), although a lot smaller then the photos suggest the apartment has everything you need for a basic (slightly oldie worldly) stay in the Caribbean. The bed is comfy and has a basic en suit toilet and shower. The only negatives = lack of a kettle & that the oven either incinerates what’s in it or doesn't cook it at all. In summary, don’t expect your accommodation budget to go as far it would in Europe but I would categorically advocate staying at Blue Ocean villa for a relatively affordable means to visit an undeniable paradise. The landlords live on the property, and are available when necessary, extremely friendly, but not intrusive at all. The studio was very clean. If you don't have a car, Miami Beach is a 40min walk. You can get around by bus, but we found the rental car to be very convenient. There's a nice surfshack open for dinner at 2min walking distance. Se amate trascorrere le vacanze lontano dalle colate di cemento dei resort all-inclusive, questo è il posto che fa per voi: vi alzarete al mattino e farete colazione guardando il mare, non sentendo nulla se non gli uccellini. A circa 100 metri avete un ristorante-pub per surfers, buono e non caro, con musica ed "ambiente" molto cool. Le spiagge di sabbia sono a pochi passi. [:en]A Barbados ho passato 3 bellissime settimane di vacanza .. Ma questo è stato possibile anche dalla scelta della casa dove alloggiare. Nell appartamento ci siamo trovati gemessimo.. A 70 m da silver sands ( spiagge ambita da windsurfisti ) ed a 100 m da un altra nlbellussima spiaggia . Pulitissima e soprattutto il proprietario ( Stefano) sempre gentilissimo e pronto a consigliare posti da visitare ., vita notturna, e "dritte su surf e windsurf" ( lui è verente forte!!!!). Per quanto mi riguarda sicuro che tornerò li!! Magari in uno dei nuovi appartamenti che stanno ultimando!! Vacanza a 5 stelle sotto tutti i pinti di vista . Ps: non è mancata l occasioni di cenare tutti assieme per assaporare Dell ottimo barracuda cucinato ad arte dalla compagna di Stefano ... Se ci ripenso mi vieni l acquolina .
