[:en]The Enerld Palms property was exactly as described on the website, location superb with beaches and surf bar within easy walking distance. A great locationfor surfing and kite surfing within 5-10 minutes walk. Easy drive to Oistins,Airport and Bridgetown, Within the apartment the balcony provided the ideal place to relax, to take in sea views and sounds, perfect for morning and evening dining. The apartment was generally well equipped and comfortable with everything needed to enjoy long or short stays. There were some features of the buiklding that would benefit from maintenance works, e.g. the windows which were showing their age and were difficult to open, thus denying the ability to benefit from some of the cooling breezes within the rooms. Stefano confirmed that this item was under review, with estimates for remedial work currently being obtained. Managers Stefano and Elisabetta were exceptional and could not have been more pleasant and helpful, both went a long way to enhancing the experience of our month long stay. Delightful. Thoroughly recommended as place to get away from it all and relax.[:]

(English) A wonderful apartment on a beautiful island

[:en]I am just returning from a wonderful three week trip with friends and we stayed in the Emerald Palms Apartment. The place was even nicer as expected. We got everything we needed in good conditions and the apartment was able to set us into a caribbean mood from the first night on. One of the most outstanding things the apartment has to offer is the ocean view from its verandah. We really enjoyed eating or just relaxing there. Even more outstanding were Stefano and Elisabetta who managed this apartment. They provided us with many useful informations and were always open for a nice chat. They made us feel comfortable from the first moment. I chose barbados as destination because of its wind and wave conditions. Stefano loves windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing and I could rent some good windsurf equipment from him, as well as a surfboard and a SUP. Further he introduced me to the windsurf conditions and gave us tips for some nice surf spots (Freights is a dream for beginners to intermediates). Of course he and Elisabetta gave us a lot of tips concerning food, supermarkets, taxis and nice places in general as well. They even offered us to help us with the car rental. The location of the apartment was a good choice as well. There are several small supermarkets you can reach by foot and Oistins, the next town can be reached by bus, taxi or car. Bridgetown is not far by car for doing some trips (i.e. for a catamaran snorkel trip. I recommend doing that. You will see turtles...;)). There is a nice bar called "Surfers Bay" with fair prices, a nice ambient with sea view and live music on sundays. It is just down the street from the apartment. Not even a three minute walk... As you can see, I am absolutely satisfied with the trip and especially with the apartment. I don't think it would be a good choice if you want to party a lot, but I would recommend it to everybody who wants a relaxed holiday on a beautiful island. [:en]Stefano and Elizabetha are the ultimate hosts they look after your every need. They are so welcoming and hospitable it makes Barbados so accessible. Beautiful Property far enough away from the centre of town to feel like your on your own private island but Close enough to any and all amenities, great bar 1 min walk overlooking the ocean, as well as great restaurants just 10 min away by car. I do suggest you rent a moke (small car) to get around on. Stefano has a range of sports equipment to help make Barbados as energetic or as lazy as you like. I have stayed here twice in 2 years and will be back year after year.[:]

[:en]I was so impressed by the recent accommodations at Blue Ocean Cottage, South Coast of Barbados. The apartment was beautiful and spacious and had the most breathtaking OCEAN view from the front veranda. It was clean and very well-equipped. The rooms were very large and airy, and ocean breezes kept us cool at night (never stuffy, we never needed AC) I would def. recommend this property to friends and family. The management was super friendly, helpful and very attentive to our needs. The entire experience was very pleasurable. The South Coast area was just beautiful beyond belief. As we partied hard, we higly appreciated the calm of the area and sound of the waves when it was time to recover. The apartment was clean, spacious and well furnished. The view from the balcony is beautiful!! The location is perfect. Not too far,(everything you need is within 10 min driving) yet not too close from touristic areas. We would recommend to rent a car though. Surprisingly, there were no mosquitoes! Wifi worked very well. Stefano was always very helpful. [:en]It was our first time in Barbados and we will definitely go back. Emerald Palms apartment is located in a very quiet area with a beautiful view of the turquoise blue water. We had all our meals on the verandah. What a pleasure! The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and clean. Perfect for a couple. [:en]The Emerald Palms apartment at Blue Ocean is a great self-catering apartment. We loved coming back to the flat after exploring the island in the mini Moke! Kicking back and tucking into your book on the balcony with the waves crashing in the background couldn't be more relaxing. The location for us, a couple, was perfect, though it would also very much Suit groups of friends and families. The Surfer's Bay cafe/bar next door was great for food and drinks while the action of local town Oistins and tourist centre St Lawrence Gap were both just a short drive/bus ride away. The bed and linens were of good quality and the bed was great. The flat's clever construction allows for natural ventilation from the very active wind which means the flat is nice and cool without the need for abrasive air con. I totally recommend this place![:]

EMERALD PALMS APARTMENT - BEST PLACE IN YEARS !! ***** Me and my girlfriend have stayed in the Emerald Palms apartment, which can be described as the smaller sister of Blue Ocean villa, which is literally one door away. Over the last years I have stayed in many apartments and vacation houses and there is always one thing which doesn't meet up with your expectations: a not properly working fridge, a cold shower, a small bed, whatever. This really is the place where everything was just perfect! The fridge is huge and cold, there is a cooker, toaster, the stove and oven both work perfectly and the shower provides hot water in a really powerful beam :). When we arrived on Barbados we were picked up by a cab (20 USD) which Stefano (the owner) had arranged for us. In advance of coming I had been emailing with him for a rental car, but it was me who forgot to reply to make the reservation. When I mailed him only 2 days prior to arrival he said it might be difficult to get one, because of high season and so on. But when we got there he had arranged us a car as well! Stefano and Elisabetta will provide you with all the information you ask for, they're super friendly people who give really the sense that you're more than welcome. The apartment was superclean on arrival and you will have lots of towels and sheets for a week, not to worry about those kind of things. The location of the cottage is great, just the sea 50 meters away, a nice beachbar at 200 meters and all the surfspots nearby. A rental car is an absolute recommendation. Oistins is the most nearby town and since it is a self catered place it super usefull to have a car to get around to go to the supermarket and see something of the island.Me being a kitesurfer: Barbados is an absolutely fantastic place to come to: the wind is superreliable between 20-30 knots everyday, don't let yourself get fooled by Windfinder reports of 12 knots everyday :)

best place on barbados for kiite- and windsurfer ***** Our family, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 15 and 17 spend the 2 x-mas holiday weeks in silver sands barbados in the emerald blue appt which is part of the blue ocean cottage place, also named the kabakalli appatements. being located on the quieter south part of barbados close to the kite mekka silver sands, with ocean view from the terasse and beautiful nature all around, this was the ideal place for us to stay. if you need daily room service, swimming pool, ready made breakfast buffet and flat screen tv with 100 channels this is not your place. if you want a bit of local touch, warmth, individuality, privacy and being close to the surf...this is the place you want to be. we loved the stay, the appartment, the owner, the beaches and everything exerienced. great place, great people, great weather, great wind and waves. we'll come back...ideally forever :-) thks for the fantastic 2 weeks. gabie, tim, luis and uwe.
